Golden Bear Restaurant in Largo

My very most favorite place to go. Me and the wife have been several times this week. Wont go without it and Joe your amazing.

Never do they ever answer their phones! I love this place but no one is ever that busy, if thats the case designate someone for customer service area. I've tried calling for 20min straight before, sometimes you can't get in to eat so you TRY and get take-out.

Great food and breakfast specials! I was greeted 3x and served immediately. Best place!

Food is excellent, staff sweet as pie! May God continue to bless your restaurant and expand it so wait would not be so long. Still worth the wait! Lol

I love this place so much. The food is delicious and the staff are always so welcoming and wonderful. I try to go there a couple times a month at least, it would be more if I lived closer. Great place, I’m always happy to give them my business.

It's a nice small place. The menu isn't to extensive breakfast and lunch and is moderately priced. It's family owned and operated.

Our shop is right across the street and we order take out quite often 😊 some restaurants takeout is not very good, but these guys are exceptional! Great food, great people! Must try if you haven't.

I have driven by this place 100 times or more and today decided to stop and check it out.The name golden bear made my wife think it was a Chinese restaurant.. but it's not.When we opened the door at 1030 am on Tuesday October 30, 2018, the place was nearly packed full of mostly elderly people eating. We sat down and ordered 2 eggs, potatoes, toast and meat for $4.95 each person. Water to drink. Food came out fast and to order. Someone who appeared to be the owner perhaps thanked us for stopping by while we were eating. The only problem I encountered, which did bother me quite a bit was that our waitress kept coughing into her hands and I never saw her wash her hands. I really hope I don't get sick because I'm very careful on what i touch and am always hand washing, especially with the winter snow bird population coming back who will spread all their northern viruses to we Floridians.

No social distance at all. Everything the CDC and the county and the state proposes being safe is out the windows they don't care no mask no paper menus know nothing people all over the top of each other sooner or later somebody's going to get sick in there and die

Golden Bear is friendly, comfortable and serves excellent food. Try the Club Burger! Recently they added plexigas dividers between every booth for the protection of their patrons.

Used to love this place but after today , I will never be back! They were busy but no reason for staff to be rude. Waitess tried to over charge us and had to point it out .. no apology. I will be spreading the word. Very sad because it was my favorite place

Good food great service

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area for breakfast or lunch. While busy the service is usually always quite good. The prices are great especially for the amount of food you get. Everything always tastes homemade and fresh. I take all my out of town guests here the morning after a big night out.

Delicious breakfast, friendly staff, enormous portions and extremely clean restaurant. Wonderful atmosphere for a day off. Coffee was great, how can you not put Golden Bear on your list! Thanks.

Greatest service with a smile even behind the masks. Everyone is very nice. This was my first visit to Golden Bear and I will definitely be a frequent customer. The owner Joe was so nice and talked with my son and I.

The best breakfast I have had in years. The food was plentiful and delicious , the plate was overflowing. The price was very low. The wait staff was totally attentive and friendly. Even the owner came around asking everyone how their food was. I can only give this place a 5-star rating but if I could give them more I'd give them a 10 star rating out of 5! It's so family-oriented and so friendly, I will definitely go back there. I look forward to trying out their lunch menu. When the owner found out that our table of three was there for the first time he even brought us paper menus to take home. Fantastic, over-the-top place.

Absolutely love this place!! The wait can be about 15 mins sometimes but the owner does an amazing job at getting you in and seated not to mention the food is worth it! We have two small children and the restuarant is very kid friendly, the servers are always so sweet and welcoming. This is our favorite restaurant.

Love this place. Always great service and great food. Moderately priced. Great family diner atmosphere. They are currently closed thru 7/15 for self quarantine (don't know if someone there tested positive for COVID-19 or if they are closed for precautions after customer tested positive). Either way, I plan to be back after they reopen.

The food is always fantastic. We come back 2-3 times per month and there is a very good reason that there is always a line out the door- friendly staff, great food, great value, and a great atmosphere. It's a cozy place and is always worth the trip!

Our little Family loves this place. Joe is the best. The food is always fresh and I haven't tried a thing on the menu that I haven't enjoyed. We, of course, would recommend the Big Bear French Pancakes. These have been a family favorite of ours for years. Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Strongly recommend Golden Bear for breakfast and lunch!

Busy dinner but not a horrible wait. Owner was serving coffee and seating guess. Everyone was nice. They definitely make the bacon crispy. Gravy was on par. Biscuits were semi sweet, nice little twist. Will go again

Went over here to eat, no social distancing, place was packed, people all over each other. Not one staff member was wearing a mask or even gloves. Every guideline set by the State they were NOT even following. This place is a breeding ground for the Covid 19 Virus. Give it time, people will be getting sick here very soon!

The portions are good, food is good came out quick and hot. The bad is you will be sweating while you eat. The room is as hot as the outside so I won’t be coming back

I absolutely love this place! This restaurant has soo many loyal customers! And its always super busy and staff stay calm and friendly! They really know what they are doing! This is one of the best breakfast places in this area!

This place is DELICIOUS! Great food at great prices! Most of the staff is friendly (I've had a not so friendly server before, but whatever she did her job lol)... Overall I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a gem. Definitely a diamond in the rough!

We went to this restaurant looking for a southern breakfast, my wife ordered fish and grits and I ordered sausage and eggs with pancakes also side order of bacon. The staff was really super nice as well as the owner ( Joe ) of Golden Bear, Joe was totally professional but treated us like family and our meal was cooked to order. The Golden Bear is a nice cozy restaurant in Largo Florida serving breakfast, lunch and dinner so you can't go wrong by stopping in for a bite to eat.
